New Year...

Hi everyone!

Today we are going to talk about something a little more serious... New Year. So most people make up New Year's resolutions e.g "I am going to lose weight." But lets be truthful... we rarely keep those promises all the way to the end of the year!

We all make unrealistic New Year's Resolutions like the example above, so this year we are going try to make realistic ones that can make us better people! For example make a goal like be more organised, join a new club at school or do a fun run for example. Or make a promise to someone else but make sure you can keep it!

The truth is, every year giraffe and I make unrealistic New Year's Resolutions that will not last a whole week let alone a year.

But also why do you have to change on New Year's Day? Can't you change any day? Just a thought! Maybe if you are reading this post halfway through July or whenever change your life now for the better! When you have finished reading this, go outside and do something productive and enjoyable or even just help out your family with chores- it may not be fun but your family will appreciate it loads!

Winter Makeup! (MUA)

Howdy Everyone!

So today we are going to show you how to do a simple and easy Winter Makeup tutorial in only 5 steps! Let's get started!

1. Apply your usual everyday base (concealer and foundation), we prefer matte! And then apply a medium toned blusher to give a nice rosy glow! 

MUA blushers are affordable and pigmented. If you can't get them in your country you can order them online from the MUA website http://www.muastore.co.uk/

2. Heavy brows are in this Winter so go down to Boots/Superdrug/your local drugstore and find a nice new powder or gel! We suggest using a MAC 266 Angled Brush to apply the powder for the best application. We also enjoy the MUA Brow Kit because it is affordable and does the job!

3. Onto the eyes! There are always loads of different looks each year but we just enjoy a smokey eye!

To do this you need a fluffy blending brush, an applicator brush that packs on the colour and a palette that contains a range of dark and light colours. Apply a light, natural base and then with a medium toned colour apply it from the center of the lid to the outside of the lid. Finally with a dark colour like black put it through the crease with the fluffy brush. To highlight the lid add a shimmery light colour under the brow bone and in the inner corners. Also run a mixture of the colours on the lash line. We recommend using any of the MUA eyeshadow palettes, especially the Elysium Palette. It also comes with a double ended eyeliner : black and a highlighting colour.

4. To finish off the eyes apply a black liquid liner to your top lash line in a thickness that suits your eyeshape. If you can't do eyeliner very well tweet us if you want us to do a blog post on it. Add a few coats of black mascara too, if you want you can add natural falsies.

5. Finally add a coat of a medium to dark toned berry lipstick. Berry lipsticks look good when they are matte. If you don't want a dark lip, you can apply a natural colour.

Halloween!

Howdy everyone!

So this blog post is going to be a bit rambly but we hope that you still enjoy it because we enjoyed typing it!

Around this time we love just to watch all these Diy Halloween costumes videos on YouTube and extravagant makeup tutorials that we know we can't do but just enjoy trying!

We don't really enjoy watching scary horror movies though! We are two scaredy cats! Meow😃

It is best at Halloween to have a go at making your own costumes! Get in the spooky spirit and do it yourself! It's a fun rainy day activity and gets you to be all creative! You can do it with your friends and family too! Often it turns out looking better than a shop bought costume too!

If you didn't want to go all out on big Halloween decorations just get some cotton balls and make them into spiders webs by pulling them apart! Also get some nice little fairy lights in the shapes of pumpkins or some Halloween themed things! And just drape them around your room!

You can make cool Halloween themed foods too! Like eyeball cake pops (velvetgh0st) or some cupcakes with nice Halloweeny type decorating!

Autumn clothes

Howdy!

This is 'giraffe' and I am really sorry that I haven't posted In ages!!!!! But anyway today's post is all about things you could do to make your everyday autumn look even more autumny!

1. Wear long or baggy clothes, they are really comfy and are perfect for cuddling up on the sofa and watching X Factor in!!

2. Maybe a bit of orange? Or even purple?? I just feel like orange and purple are really nice colours for autumn! Maybe not together though...

3. I always think that a pair of  boots with a small chunky heel are really fun to wear in autumn.

4. Add a bit of sparkle by wearing some of your favourite jewellery!!!

Autumnal Makeup Look

Howdy everyone!

We hope you enjoyed our 'Personalising and Organising your room' series and we hope to do more series like that!

So today we are going to be talking about the essentials you need for an Autumnal Makeup Look!

Face: a nice matte foundation ( we recommend the mac studio fix foundation) and a nice light pink blusher for rosy cheeks.

Eyes: smoky eyes are all in for autumn but if you don't feel comfortable using a black we recommend natural smoky eyes ( MUA heaven and earth palette is great for this look and a great bargain!)
Big lashes and a nice cat flick will finish this look off!

Lips: finally lips are the key point of this look! Plum or wine coloured lips are beautiful in autumn! You can get really cheap lipsticks or high end ones(MUA/mac) don't put on lipgloss because Autumn = MATTE! Haha xx

Personalizing and Organizing your room! Spring edition!

Howdy Everyone!

Sorry this post is a bit late (like the last one)! But on to the personalizing!!

1. Add floral scented candles to make it smell and feel like the blossoming of spring!

2. Going back to the last one, add a vase of bright flowers to make your look bright and smell nice if you're not allowed candles in your bedroom.

3. Add lots of pastel colours- maybe paint your wardrobe or have pastel photo frames!!

4. Make a line of springy pictures like farm animals, flowers or even pictures of you and your friends! Just take a piece of string and some pegs and attach the pictures to the string. Then simply attach it to your wall!

 

5. Sometimes it can get a bit chilly in spring in the U.K. so why not add a pastel coloured or floral throw/blanket to your bed so when you get cold just go to your bed and cuddle up in the throw!

Personalizing and Organizing your room! Winter Edition

Howdy everyone!

Sorry that this post is a bit late coming! The Spring edition will be up soon!

Right so on to the organizing!

1. In the UK, Christmas comes in Winter so if you are from the UK add Christmas decorations like tinsel and a Christmas tree.

2. Make a colour scheme of cold colours like white (which is like snow) or blue (ice).

3. Use a stencil in the shape of a snowflake and put it on your wall. Paint over it in white and then repeat on another part of the wall!

4.  Add little pops of metallics. Some gold and silver!

5. Finally, get a nice big frame and put lots of pictures and memories from that year!

Howdy Everyone!

So today I will be talking to you about 5 ways to update your room ready for Autumn because I know that it is different temperatures in different countries!

1. Have a colour scheme! Sounds weird I know, but instead of it being random pops of colour like in summer go for a colour scheme maybe darker colours?

2. Add minimal decoration, to keep it clean and simple! Maybe just a big picture or something hanging on your wall?

3. Make your room cosy! Add cushions and blankets to warm up the appearance!

4. Make your own bunting just to make yoyr room look pretty and welcoming!

5. CANDLES CANDLES CANDLES!!!

Personalizing and organising your Room! (Summer Edition)

Howdy Everyone!

So we have five steps for how you could personalise or "vamp" up your room. We thought that we would do 4 different posts like this but they would all be for different seasons! So as you can probably see this one is the summer edition, the next one will be for Autumn and we will upload this 'series' in this coming week.

Anyways so lets get this show on the road!

1. To prepare your room first have a big clear out! This might not sound fun but put on a bit of music and open the windows and dance around a little bit and you will be fine! Also when you have gotten rid of a bit of stuff sell it on EBay! Then you could spend that money on new decorations!

2. Next, add POPS of colour! Summer is all about being bright and cheerful! So add pictures (you could draw or paint or print them out and put them in a frame!) and organise your makeup and put them in personalised jars. We recommend watching Niomi Smart's video on personalising jars or watching CloeCoutures summer bedroom.

3. Add LIGHT! It will open up your room and add the illusion of it being bright and airy. Get some fairy lights they are soooo pretty and cute and you can get loads of different types in different shapes and colours!

4. Having mirrors in your room gives the illusion of space!

5. Do a bit of DIY! Is your desk looking sad? Paint it! Print off a stencil from online, place it on the wall and paint it! Its really easy but looks so cool and professional!

2. Another YouTuber that we LOVE is Grav3yardgirl! She basically tests out as seen on TV products that her subscribers suggest to her but she is hilarious!!!! Seriously if you're having a bad day then you should definitely check her out to make you cheer up :) 

3. The next YouTuber that we LOVE is CloeCouture! She does a large variety of videos including; hauls, monthly favourites, DIYs, make up tutorials, outfits for different occasions etc etc etc. CloeCouture is really funny and her DIYs are really easy but are really cool at the same time!!

10 Things To Do This Summer

Howdy Everyone!

So today we thought it would be nice to do another post that is summer related! Also we didn't want it to be the usual makeup and stuff so here it is, 10 things to do this summer!

1. Build a fort, outside if you can! And then eat food inside of it (that's the best part)

2. Invite your friends over for a water fight:)

3. Make your own pretend beach in your garden (get out the paddling pool)

4. Bake a cake :) yum!

5. Be decorative and creative! Maybe personalize your room!

6. Go out and exercise maybe go for a run or go out on your old bike?

7. Go on a shopping spree with your bestest buddy;)

8. Go outsideeee and enjoy the fresh air! You will regret it when you are back at school/work bored and you can see the blue sky outside!

9. Take risks (within reason) like dye your hair or try a new makeup look or maybe be even more adventurous than those two options!

10. Forget about all those worries! Enjoy every second of summer with people you love and forget about those who you don't.

Summer Essentials!

Howdy everyone!

4. Foundation with SPF in! We don't want to burn!

This is the MAC prolong wear with SPF 10 in it!

5. Finally, you should have some fake tan, it's better to fake it than damage your skin!

Summer Favourites

Howdy Everyone!!

Before we start we just want to say that we are very sorry that we haven't posted in a while. We hope to start posting a bit more so that you can have more to read and hopefully enjoy!

Anyway, today we decided to do a post about our favourite things about summer and our favourite summer products and other bits and bobs!

BTW: these things aren't in any specific order lol x

1. It's always good to stay non-shining on the facial area! So we recommend the Rimmel London Stay Matte powder! We understand that in the summer you can get a tad bit sweaty so this powder will keep you stay non-shiny for  hours and hours!!

2. Our next beauty product is, well basically any summery nail polishes!! Colours like pastel colours, neon colours or light pinks, light blues, light greens, yellow or orange!!

3. Our final beauty products are fruity smelling perfume! 3 that smell #amazeballz are the Lipsy London - Love, Katy Perry Killer Queen this ones been out for  while now but we still can't get enough of its smell!! And finally, Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday OR Minajesty!!

4. Now here's a random thing that's fun for on the go!! The wreck this journal books! Where ever you are there's always some way that you can wreck a piece of paper!!! 

5. Here's our final 'summer-love'!! It's not a thing its just what we love about summer!! We love to have cold drinks when it's boiling hot and sit in the garden and read magazines like shout or bliss!!! Also it's always nice to have a blue sky!

So first off, sorry about not always posting at the right time! But sometimes we are not able to come together and write a post so today it is just one of us, we have both thought about it though!

Nail Art Tutorial!!

Howdy Everyone!!

First off, we are really sorry that we didn't post anything last week because one of us was ill and we were unable to meet up.

So this time we are going to upload 2 posts!!

We have been busy painting nails and this is the design that you can achieve by reading this blog!

1. On your thumb, do 2 thin coats of your chosen pastel colour. We used NYC's nail varnish in Raindrop 325. Then we did a criss cross type pattern (see picture) with a plain black striper. If you don't have a black striper you can dip a thin paintbrush into some black nail polish or even a liquid eyeliner but remember to seal in your design with a topcoat!

2. For your index finger paint it a few coats of a sunny yellow or whatever colour suits you! And then go mad with a dotting tool and any colour you wish! We used a Beauty UK polish!

3. On the middle finger, paint it with a nice pink and then fill in a big heart in the middle. We used NYC's polish in 300 Spring Tulip, great for Spring and Summer!

4. For the ring finger, paint a dark (ish) purple and then be creative with a black striper and dotting tool to create a tribal print!! We just used a Claire's purple polish.

5. Finally, on your little finger do a triangle by the cuticles. We used a mint/turquoise as a base and it was from NYC in shade 320 Blue Sky. Hopefully you can see that in the first picture on this post! End your design by covering it with a matte top coat!
